Sydney · Sound Energy Emotion

The roommoves now.

Sets built for the moment the crowd stops watching and starts moving.

01 · The story

Hi, I’m Vish.

Music got me at ten; House, Afro, Dance, Latin, RnB, anything with a pulse. By sixteen I was in the clubs, but not to be seen: I was studying them, how the Sound carries, how Energy makes the floor breathe, and, how when a track dropped at the right moment builds Emotion. By twenty, I was the one behind the decks in Kenya.

That obsession now lives in Sydney, and it has a name Sound.Energy.Emotion. It’s not a slogan; it’s the standard every single set gets built to.

Here’s how I work: I read the room before I raise it. Seamless transitions. Tracks curated live, to the crowd in front of me — RnB into Afrobeats, House into Bollywood, the familiar cut with the unexpected. The energy never dips and never peaks too early. It builds, all night, until the floor doesn’t want to leave.

If it moves you, I’ll make it unforgettable. That’s the job. I take it personally.

Obsessed since ten. Behind decks since twenty. Now lighting up Sydney’s floors.

The rooms

Every room. One pulse.

A wedding is not a club and a rooftop is not a backyard. Same ear, different job. Find your night below — then tell me the date.

  1. Xavish at the decks at a wedding reception, guests dancing behind him

    Wedding receptions

    The moment the room turns.

Speeches are done, the lights drop, and eighty people decide in about ninety seconds whether tonight is a late one. That handover is the whole job — and it is the part most quotes never mention.

    Read live, never pre-planned.

  2. A couple dancing alone in a spotlight while guests watch from around the floor

    The first dance

    One song. Everyone watching.

It has to start clean, sit at the right volume for a room holding its breath, and open up the second you invite the floor in. Get the timing wrong and the moment lands flat in front of every guest and every camera.

Timed to your song, not a template.

  3. An outdoor marquee reception under festoon lights at dusk

    Garden & marquee

    No house sound? Solved.

Vineyards, gardens and marquees bring their own problems — nothing to plug into, power a long walk away, and a curfew that genuinely gets enforced. Every one of them is fixable when it is planned, and painful when it isn't.

    Full sound and lighting supplied.

  4. Wedding guests with hands raised celebrating in front of the DJ booth

    Multicultural weddings

    Two cultures, one floor.

Bollywood into Afrobeats into House and back again, without the floor noticing the join. Far fewer DJs can genuinely do this than say they can, and doing it badly empties a room in a single transition.

    Open format, mixed live.

  5. Guests with drinks at a private house party beside the DJ setup

    Birthdays & private functions

    Eighty people, not a nightclub.

Milestone birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, backyard parties. A smaller room needs reading more carefully, not less — the wrong track at a 50th clears the floor faster than silence.

Scaled to the room, not the rig.

  6. An evening rooftop function with guests and the DJ setup

    Corporate & rooftop

    Lifted, never hijacked.

Work functions, gala nights, end-of-year parties. The brief is almost always the same: keep it composed while people are still talking, then give them permission to let go once the room is ready.

Professional on the mic, clean on the fade.

  7. Xavish at the decks facing a large crowd under stage lighting

    Club nights

    And then, properly late.

Peak time, open format, no prisoners. This is what the whole night has been building toward since the first dance — and it is where a resident's instincts earn their money.

07 · The detail

Straight answers.

How much does a wedding DJ cost in Sydney?

Every quote is tailored to the event. The factors are the occasion, the location and any travel involved, the number of hours, the sound and lighting (A/V) setup the room needs, and how complex the night is to run — for example multiple setups across a ceremony and reception. Xavish doesn't sell fixed packages, so the set and the setup match your night. Send your date, venue and rough guest numbers through the booking form for a straight answer.

Do you MC as well as DJ?

Yes. Xavish handles reception hosting on the microphone as well as the music — entrances, formalities, speeches and the run sheet — so the night flows without a separate MC. Clients regularly book both together.

What music do you play?

Open format. RnB, Afrobeats, House, EDM, Bollywood, Tech House, Latin, Old Skool and Dance, mixed live to the room rather than run off a fixed playlist. Cultural and multicultural weddings are a regular part of the work, including Bollywood and Afrobeats-led floors.

Which areas of Sydney do you cover?

The entire Sydney metropolitan area — Western and South West Sydney, Macarthur, Camden, Campbelltown, Liverpool, Blacktown, Penrith, Parramatta, The Hills District, Epping, Hornsby, Ryde, the Inner West, the North Shore, the Northern Beaches, the Eastern Suburbs and the Sutherland Shire. Travel beyond metropolitan Sydney can be arranged.

Can we choose the songs?

Absolutely. Share must-plays and do-not-plays before the night and they're built into the plan. Beyond that, track selection and mixing happen live, reading the actual crowd in front of the decks — that's what keeps a floor full.

Do you bring your own sound and lighting?

Yes. Xavish brings professional DJ equipment, sound and lighting suited to the room, and works with whatever the venue already provides. Requirements are confirmed with you and the venue before the date.

How do we book, and what deposit is required?

Send your event details through the booking form or call directly. Once the date, times and fee are agreed in writing, a 50% deposit confirms the booking and holds the date; the balance is due on or before the event.

How far in advance should we book?

Earlier is safer, especially for Saturday weddings in peak season, since only one booking can be taken per date. If your date is close, it's still worth asking — it may be free.

Our venue has no house sound — can you still do it?

Yes. Gardens, marquees and vineyard receptions usually have nothing to plug into, so the full sound and lighting setup comes with the booking and is scaled to the room, guest numbers and whether the venue supplies anything. Power access, cover for the equipment and the venue's curfew all get planned before the day rather than discovered on it.

How do you handle the first dance?

It's timed to your song, not a template. Xavish takes your chosen track, starts it clean at a level suited to a room that has gone quiet, and opens the floor up at the moment you want guests to join — whether that's a planned cue partway through or straight after the song ends. If you want an edit, a shortened version or a transition straight into the party, that's arranged beforehand.
